HIC Pro
HGL has been involved in the field of playground safety since 2012 through our HGL Dynamics South Korea subsidiary and multiple customers within the vibrant playground safety testing industry in South Korea.
We began by offering a wired HIC device tethered to a laptop PC but quickly moved to making one of the first truly wireless devices. Today over 40 units are in operation throughout Korea where the HIC Pro is the market leader.
IHIC Pro provides state-of-the-art twin triaxial accelerometers utilising both a MEMS DC accurate force sensor for initial drop timing and a traditional piezoelectric triaxial high speed accelerometer for precise ground strike data capture. HIC Pro can accurately calculate the height from which it was dropped to better than 5mm and computes the height, HIC and maximum G onboard for instant display.
Capture data is stored onboard onto a secure solid state storage and can be offloaded post-testing via USB-C or alternately data can be offloaded immediately via WiFi to a Windows PC or Tablet.
Power is provided by standard NiMh AA rechargeable batteries which can be replaced within a few seconds to allow testing to continue quickly when the batteries drain.
The carbon fibre reinforced handle contains a ferrous plate to allow simple attachment to a tripod (electromagnet) for even bettery height accuracy and test repeatability.
HGL also provides mature PC software to allow preparation for testing and to offload, view and report on test data. The onboard storage device has capacity for thousands of measurements and the battery capacity of 2-3 hours of continuous operation allows for all day use in normal operating conditions.
